The Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) recently changed the way academic rating (AR) is calculated for its PGPM class of 2022-24.
The institution has removed the requirement for a bachelor’s degree from the criteria for shortlisting candidates. Candidates will now be evaluated academically based on their performance in the Class 10 and 12 board exams.
Because many universities had to evaluate students based on different factors as a result of COVID-19, the CAT 2021 committee allowed candidates to take the examination without requiring a certain percentage of marks in their degree exams.
Accordingly, the IIM Ahmedabad Admissions Committee has decided to remove the bachelor’s degree requirement from the shortlisting criteria and apply it to all applicants. IIM Ahmedabad has announced that the AR will be calculated on a scale of 25 (considering class 10th, class 12th, and work experience) and prorated to 35.

In other words, (prorated AR Score/35) + 0.65 (normalized overall CAT Score)
(AR score calculated by taking away 25 points for a Bachelor’s degree)
